Participants should plan to arrive at the Callaway House by 5:15pm at the very latest.

Travel

Over the next two weeks, you will be working out travel with your Regional Field Coordinator. Please expect a call!

If you are driving your vehicle to Austin, you will receive a gas stipend based on the number of miles traveled.

If you are flying to Austin, you should have received your flight itinerary by now. Please plan to arrive at the airport 1.5 hours prior to your flight. You may also check-in for your flight online up to 24 hours in advance on the carriers website. You are responsible for coordinating your own travel to and from your home airport. TFN will arrange your transportation to the conference hotel when you land in Austin. You will receive a separate email with that information. 

NOTE: If you miss your flight, TFN will not purchase a later flight for you. It is your responsibility to review baggage policies for your respective airlines, and you are responsible for any checked-bag fees.

Lodging

Your room has been booked at the The Callaway House (address above). 

IMPORTANT: The Callaway House is a student housing facility. 

Unlike a hotel, this facility does not provide:

  • Towels
  • Sheets
  • Blankets
  • Pillows
  • Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste etc.).

*** It is your responsibility to bring towels, sheets blankets, pillows, and any toiletries you will need for the weekend. ***

Parking

For those who are driving to Austin, Callaway House provides parking on site. You will receive a tag that will allow you to park in the Callaway garage. 

Because the location of the reception and the training is not within walking distance, we will be providing a shuttle service for attendance to the events. Parking around the reception and training spaces will not be covered. 

Registration

When you arrive at the facility, find the Texas Rising registration table to get your room key and conference materials. Once you get your key, drop your luggage off in your room. You must check in at the registration table before heading to Google Fiber for the opening ceremony.

Materials

TFN will provide you with all of the materials needed for the training. It might be helpful to bring a pen and pad of paper to take notes if that’s your style. 

Dress/Attire 

The opening reception on Friday night will be a casual/business casual event. The rest of the conference is casual, so wear whatever is comfortable (jeans/shorts & a t-shirt is totally cool). Note that room temperatures may vary, so dress in layers.

Opening Ceremony

Friday’s opening reception and dinner will take place at Google Fiber (address listed above). Food and beverages will be covered by TFN at the venue. There will also be a professional photographer taking photos throughout the opening reception, so dress in whatever you’d like to be captured in because we love to share our photos far and wide!

The Fine Print

Participants should expect to attend the entire training from 6:30pm on Friday, July 26 until 5pm on Sunday, July 28.

All travel, lodging, meals, and training materials will be provided by TFN free of charge.

Participants will be responsible for any incidental expenses at the Callaway House (i.e. damage to property, smoking fines, etc.).

Fees incurred by schedule changes, or any other change that is not pre-approved by TFN staff, will be the responsibility of that attendee (i.e. missed a flight or bus to or from the training).

If for whatever reason you can no longer attend the event, please let us know ASAP as we are making nonrefundable accommodations on your behalf.
